Cut bracing and posi-strut chords in Point Cook

How it happens
A following trade runs a service through a brace or a truss chord because it is in the way.
Why it matters
Bracing provides stability against lateral load. A cut brace is not providing it, and the frame report that passed no longer describes the building.
Posi-strut chords
An open web truss with a cut top chord carries load differently. The manufacturer has to specify the repair, not the site.
Why lock-up catches it
It is the only inspection after the trades have been through and before plaster covers the evidence.
What to do
If you booked frame, book lock-up too. They catch different things.
